During the creation of Evangeline my studio was glistening and glittering, with beams of light bouncing from the colourful hand cut mirrored shards that occupied every work surface in my studio. It was a truly magical and surreal process during its creation and an absolute labour of love.

The largest and truly magnificent addition to the 'Butterfly Experiment' collection created to evoke encouragement to pursue change that will ultimately lead to a peaceful and positive state of being.

All changes no matter how small can ultimately make a significant impact and this theory of the 'Ripple Effect' is what inspired the textured background in which the butterflies are adorned, finished in a white wood float frame.

FEATURES & METHODOLOGY

Leah-Dior’s signature artisan mirror is created using both modern and ancient craft techniques to artistically treat the mirror with chemicals to infuse colour or gilt with gold leaf. 

Using using tried and tested methods drawn from the artists scientific background, a concoction of craftsmanship and chemistry.

Each piece and original one of a kind.

Entirely handcrafted by the artist.
